Fundraising
The SJRPA participates in a number of fundraising activities throughout the year, generating revenue to help make purchases to enrich School life that otherwise wouldn't be possible. To find out how you can help support the fundraising efforts of the SJRPA or to become a volunteer, read through the listings below.
Bingo
Parent volunteers are asked to donate four hours of their time to sell Bingo cards or Nevada tickets at McPhillips Street Station and Club Regent. This profitable fundraiser requires us to provide three volunteers twice per month on designated evenings.
Canteen
The canteen requires many volunteers throughout the year, particularly after school and during hockey, volleyball and basketball games. Profits are directed back to SJR athletics through SJRPA allocations.
Holly Ball
The Holly Ball is the traditional SJR Ball held annually in the New Year. The 2010 event took place on January 30, 2010 at the Fairmont Hotel. This enjoyable evening includes cocktails, dinner, dancing and a silent auction. The Holly Ball is the SJRPA's major fundraising event and offers many opportunities for volunteering. Decorating, menu planning, and ticket selling are just a few of the ways to volunteer.
Ice Cream Sales
With more than 24 different items available, the SJRPA's ice cream fundraiser has something for everyone. All ice cream is Kosher and premium quality at less than wholesale prices. Some items are not even available in retail stores! Download a flyer or order form.
Lobsterfest
The 2010 Lobsterfest took place on Friday, April 16, 2010. It was a great success! Thanks to everyone who participated. Lobsterfest provides the opportunity to socialize while enjoying succulent lobster in an informal atmosphere. Volunteers are always required in the planning, set-up, and take-down of the event.
Magazine Fundraiser
Magazines are still available online. Important: you will need your group numbers to order. SJR K-5 is Group 30266 and SJR 5-12 is Group 30265.
'Stuck on You' Labels
The St. John’s-Ravenscourt Parents’ Association is currently running a fundraiser with Stuck on You Labels, one of the world’s largest suppliers of personalized children’s products.
