A Message from the Director of Admissions and Communications

When prospective families meet the Admissions staff for the first time, they often admit that they’re surprised at what they find.

They’re usually expecting the process to be intimidating and they’re more than a little nervous. I’m told that those nerves quickly disappear when they get to know us—a warm, friendly, professional team that works closely with families to make the best match between students and our School.

SJR’s mission is to provide a respectful learning community for our students that inspires academic excellence, creative expression, active healthy living and social responsibility in order to develop compassionate and confident individuals. We also offer an extensive co-curricular program that engages students in the areas of leadership, sports, creative expression and community service.

What does all that mean for you or your son or daughter? Simply put, SJR is here to provide the leadership and the tools to help students fulfill their promise. It’s a safe environment for students to be challenged academically, to grow, and to be connected to School life, whether their passion is to be a champion debater, a volunteer at an orphanage overseas, or a goalie on the hockey team. It’s also a welcoming campus where newcomers quickly feel at home and students enjoy a wide variety of shared experiences, building special memories that will last a lifetime.
