Volunteer position


St. John’s-Ravenscourt School is looking for qualified minor hockey coaches to fill volunteer positions for the upcoming 2017-2018 Hockey Season.

St. John's-Ravenscourt School is an independent school with celebrated hockey program with over 50 years of history. We are looking for experienced volunteer coaches at alllevels. The SJR Hockey Program offers:
  • Competitive honorariums for non-parent, non-staff coaches

  • Coaching development Program Support

  • Home ice Dutton Arena (on campus)


Key Responsibilities:

Candidates must be able to work in a high profile environment with attention to detail, teamwork, and strong communication skills.

Duties listed below include but are not limited to:

  • Player evaluation and selection

  • Working with the minor hockey operations to implement seasonal progression plans

  • Planning and conducting practices

  • Planning and implementing pre-game player preparation and communication

  • Supervising players during all team events including games and practices

  • Ensuring players comply with team/club rules at all times

  • Work with Manager of Hockey Operations regarding SJR coaching development sessions, player or parent issues


Mandatory Qualifications:

Strong hockey background either playing or coaching Respect-in-Sport Certification, Child Abuse Registry (CAR) Check and Criminal Record Check (CRC), Appropriate NCCP Certification.
