It’s SJR’s favourite time of year: Homecoming! It’s that special weekend when we invite our family of alumni and community of friends to join us on campus to relive great memories and make some new ones. Come and see what’s new and revel in all that’s familiar at Homecoming 2013.
Alumni Dinner
The Classes of 1953, 1963, 1973, 1983, 1988, 1993 and 2003 will be celebrating their milestone reunions at our annual SJR Homecoming Alumni Dinner. This special evening, to be held on Friday September 20, is a special time to reconnect and celebrate each other’s accomplishments. Honourees Gordon Dailley '29 and Ted Bigelow '70 will be inducted into the Sports Hall of Fame at this event and we will honour our special guest Mr John Barsby.
Cocktails start at 6:30 p.m. The evening’s program will commence at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $75.00 each. Please contact the alumni office for ticket purchase. All are welcome to attend, regardless of graduation year.
Soccer Match
It’s time for our Homecoming Alumni vs. the SJR Varsity team challenge on Saturday, September 21. This event will take place on the front field, weather permitting. It’s a great challenge—not to be missed. Please visit the website for further details to find out how you can participate, either by playing or cheering on the players! The game starts at 10:30 a.m.
Alumni BBQ
Take a break and join Alumni BBQ from noon – 1:00 p.m. All are welcome, but an RSVP would be appreciated
Tours
Enjoy a nostalgic walk through SJR’s halls and down memory lane. Tours start at 1:00 p.m. in Hamber Hall.
Alumni Hockey Game
Relive the Eagles on Ice with an alumni hockey game at the Dutton Arena. The game will commence at 2:00 p.m. Interested in playing? Contact the Alumni Office at alumni@sjr.mb.ca.
Class of 1963 Cocktail Reception
A celebration of the Class of 1963! Can you believe it’s been 50 years since this group graduated? Head of School Stephen Johnson will host a cocktail reception in their honour from 4:30 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. at Shepard House. If you’re from the Class of 1963, this one’s just for you!
