Senior School Chemistry Teacher
Full-time (1.0 EFT) 1 year term teaching position to commence August 2024
The successful candidate will work with a strong team of science teachers to create a positive and engaging learning environment for our students. The candidate will demonstrate superior teaching ability for Grade 9 and 10 general science and Grades 11 and 12 Chemistry. Furthermore, the successful candidate will carry out planning, lesson delivery, assessment and student inclusion as well as communicate with stakeholders in a timely and effective manner. The candidate should be a caring and inclusive educator who can enact the School’s character values: respect, empathy, courage, and integrity.
The candidate will be part of a dynamic campus environment where highly motivated students and dedicated staff combine to create a vital, inclusive community culture. Our faculty contribute to both curricular and co-curricular programming, supporting academics and school life opportunities for students. The candidate must hold a valid Manitoba Teaching Certificate or be eligible to obtain one.

St. John’s-Ravenscourt School was founded in 1820 principally to serve the children of the Selkirk settlers. By 1834 there were forty students, evenly split between boys and girls. SJR has inevitably grown and changed over the years since, though its success throughout has been unimpeachable. We have graduated 18 Rhodes scholars, for example, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted patronage and established a scholarship in her name in 1981. Today the programs are as strong as our reputation. A strong academic program is paired with an equally strong attention to the values of stewardship, ethical leadership, and excellence in all areas of academic, social and athletic life.
