    As we all adapt to a new normal we invite young alumni to join us for a Microsoft Teams Social on Wednesday, November 4, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. to connect with SJR alumni from the classes of 2017-2020. This is an informal opportunity to chat with special guests: Kelly Teixeira, University Advisor, and Rebecca Powell, Director of Student Life.

    We would love to hear about your "remote" university experiences.

    Logan Roadley '17 was a member of TeamTrue North in the World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji. 


    Join Logan for a virtual discussion about his experience in this race on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 from 7:00 - 8:00 p.m. (CST)

    World’s Toughest Race: Eco-Challenge Fiji was a television series documenting a long-range multi-day expedition race in which teams race non-stop with little to no sleep over mountains, jungles, and oceans. The television series documenting the race was hosted by Bear Grylls and premiered on Amazon Prime Video in August, 2020.

    In order to participate in the call, you must join the SJR Network and register. A Microsoft Teams link will be sent to registered guests before the event.

    We are looking forward to hearing from Logan about this unique adventure. We hope that you will be able to join us!

    The SJR Alumni Book Club returns in November!


    Join the SJR Network today and be a part of the conversation with our hosts, former faculty Ray and Michelle Grynol. Special guests, former English teacher Pam Lockman and former Head of School Stephen Johnson will be joining us!


    We will be meeting online, November 24, 2020 at 7:30 p.m. (CST) using Microsoft Teams to discuss Isabel Allende's A Long Petal of the Sea.


    A link to the discussion will be sent to you one week prior to the event, so be sure to register through the SJR Network!


    Haven't read the book yet, but it's on your list of things to do? Join us anyway! It will be great to see you.

    Are you decking the halls or bringing cheer to all who are near or far  from a safe distance?


    Send us a your recording of you and your friends caroling in fine SJR form and our own Carol from the Kitchen will select the winning performance. Get creative and have some fun, keeping social distancing in mind. Submit your video by uploading the link to the SJR Network feed.  Deadline for submission is December 7, 2020.

Reunions and Receptions

Throughout the year, SJR hosts a variety of alumni events in Winnipeg and beyond. Join us at one of our upcoming alumni receptions or School gatherings!

SJR will be hosting the following milestone reunions at Homecoming in 2019:

1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1994, 1999, 2009

St. John’s-Ravenscourt School was founded in 1820 principally to serve the children of the Selkirk settlers. By 1834 there were forty students, evenly split between boys and girls. SJR has inevitably grown and changed over the years since, though its success throughout has been unimpeachable. We have graduated 18 Rhodes scholars, for example, and Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II granted patronage and established a scholarship in her name in 1981. Today the programs are as strong as our reputation. A strong academic program is paired with an equally strong attention to the values of stewardship, ethical leadership, and excellence in all areas of academic, social and athletic life.
