SJR is an independent co-educational Kindergarten to Grade 12 university-preparatory day school that prepares students for university and the challenges of the world beyond. We invite applications for the following position:
Full time (1.0 EFT) term position to commence Jan. 2026 until June 2026
SJR Learning Support staff work closely with students, teachers, staff and administration to support and ensure the educational and personal growth of individual students. The successful candidate will have:
- a Manitoba Teaching Certificate or be eligible to obtain one;
- experience teaching or working with students in a Kindergarten to Grade 12 school setting;
- post-baccalaureate certification or specialized training in programming for literacy, numeracy, instruction and assessment for exceptional students;
- experience in planning and programming for students with individualized learning needs including the implementation of AEP/IEP documents;
- experience in guiding/collaborating with classroom teachers and educational assistants, and communicating with parents;
- knowledge of teaching strategies that celebrate the unique strengths, learning needs, and cultural identities of each child;
- knowledge or experience in specific areas, such as, but not limited to: social/emotional development, assistive technologies, and differentiated instruction
