Ceremony Celebrating Queen's Patronage
The Lieutenant Governor of Manitoba, the Hon. Peral McGonigal, presents the letter from Buckingham Palace announcing the Queen's Patronage to SJR. Her Honour announced the singular distinction at a special assembly on November 30th, 1982. In her speech, Her Honour explained how the Queen;s patronage gives encouragement to institutions and associations whose work and service deserve recognition within the community. She lauded the School's reputation for producing fine students, including 16 Rhodes scholars.
