Due to CancerCare's recent announcement stating that after December 31st, 2018 they will not be accepting hair donations, we will no longer be hosting the hair cutting event in conjunction with Kendra's Walk. To donate the hair to Pantene, please go to this link and follow the instructions.
In conjunction with the South Winnipeg Family Information Centre, the SJRPA is once again offering a babysitting course to Middle School students. Taking place on Monday, November 26, 2018, this course will cover the following responsibilities of a babysitter: getting along with children, child care and development for infants and school-aged children, accident prevention and illness, and dealing with problems and emergencies, etc. While this course is designed primarily for students who are interested in babysitting, it is also a valuable opportunity to teach students self-confidence and self-reliance when staying home alone.
The new school year is in full swing, and we at the Junior School Rosenberg Library are looking forward to welcoming back our returning volunteers and hoping to welcome new volunteers as well!

Thanks to Brian Teetaert for taking the time yesterday to speak to Ms. Brueton's Grade 10 Geographical Issues of the 21st Century class about agriculture in Manitoba.
This presentation will support parents on how to establish and maintain rules and expectations for children while developing a positive parent-child relationship.
There are many opportunities for current parents and family members to volunteer at SJRPA events and activities, either on an ongoing or one-off basis.
