Dance and Dramatic Arts Teacher (Junior School)
Full-time (1.0 EFT) teaching position to commence September 2026
 
The Dance and Dramatic Arts Teacher (Junior School) will work closely with students and colleagues to nurture creativity, confidence, and collaboration through engaging performing arts experiences.
 
The successful candidate will have:
  • Experience teaching musical theatre, drama, and/or dance at the elementary level.
  • Training in ballet, jazz, modern, tap or similar dance disciplines, with the ability to design developmentally appropriate movement experiences for children.
  • Experience designing and directing age-appropriate drama activities, scenes, or musical theatre pieces that build students’ confidence in performance, collaboration, and storytelling.
  • Commitment to embedding diverse cultural perspectives, including Indigenous ways of knowing and being, through creative movement and performance.
  • A strong understanding of child development and differentiated instruction.
  • Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration skills; working closely with colleagues to support the holistic development and academic success of students.
  • The ability to inspire enthusiasm and creativity in young learners in a welcoming and supportive classroom environment.
  • Proficiency in leveraging technology in purposeful and innovative ways to enhance learning experiences.

Teachers receive competitive compensation and may apply for professional development funding. Grade-level teaching assignments may change from year to year based on operational needs.
