St. John’s-Ravenscourt School (SJR) enjoys a preeminent position in the community of Canadian independent schools. A university-preparatory day and boarding school for boys and girls, SJR serves over 900 students (20 of whom are boarders), from kindergarten to grade 12. Reporting to the Deputy Head, Academics, the Principal of Senior School will be a key member of the School’s Senior Administrative Team with comprehensive responsibility for all activities involving students and faculty in the Senior School. The Principal of Senior School leads the creation and maintenance of a healthy, safe and dynamic learning environment in which both staff and students may best grow and develop. Senior School students are engaged in a challenging and diverse program aimed at developing their communication skills, immersing them in a wealth of co-curricular, community service, and leadership activities.
SJR is seeking an enthusiastic and progressive educational leader, at the forefront of innovative learning, to support and engage senior division faculty and staff in striving for excellence in all areas, while actively connecting with the greater community to keep stride with effective practices in education. The new Principal of Senior School will be an accomplished educator with a track record of leadership and administrative experience, and will join a School that is well-governed, financially secure, staffed by highly motivated and committed teachers and staff, and embraced by enthusiastic students and supportive parents. An advanced degree and training through Canadian Accredited Independent Schools (CAIS) are assets.
