Dear Parents of Current Grade 5, 6 and 7 students,

We are pleased to continue to offer the SJR-Evolution Hockey Physical Education Program for those students enrolling in Grades 6, 7, and 8 for the 2021-2022 academic school year. This seven-month program allows students to enhance their hockey and athletic skills in a specialized educational setting. We will follow COVID-19 safety protocols and rules at all times. Given the current uncertainties, please understand that we may be required to change the nature of the program at short notice. We will keep you informed throughout.

What Does the Program Look Like?
The program runs during regularly scheduled Phys. Ed. classes for students in Grades 6, 7, and 8 during the first two terms of the academic school year (September-March). The proposed plan is for approximately 60% of instructional hours dedicated to on-ice instruction; the remaining time focuses on enhancing athlete and character development through Strength & Conditioning, Multi-Sport Training, and Classroom Theory Sessions.

What Separates this Hockey Program from other “Academy” Models?
The SJR-Evolution Hockey Program offers one of the lowest teacher-to-student ratios in Canada. A minimum of three instructors are active within our classes, both on and off the ice. Next year’s program will be led by the exceptional staff of Evolution Hockey and Mr. Kevin Landreville (High School Boys Coach, High Performance Coach, and Head of Middle School Phys. Ed.).
