Myke Healy: A Leader Grounded in Purpose, Innovation and Community

Myke Healy: A Leader Grounded in Purpose, Innovation and Community

On July 1, St. John’s-Ravenscourt School (SJR) will welcome Mr. Myke Healy as its next Head of School. Selected through a comprehensive national search, Mr. Healy brings more than two decades of experience in education, along with a strong record of academic leadership, innovation, and community engagement.

Most recently, Mr. Healy has served as Assistant Head - Teaching and Learning at Trinity College School in Port Hope, Ontario, where he has led academic strategy, faculty development, and curricular innovation across the School. In this role, he has worked closely with teachers and academic leaders to strengthen program delivery, support professional growth, and ensure students are both challenged and supported in their learning.

His leadership reflects a clear commitment to thoughtful, future-focused education—one that balances academic excellence with adaptability and prepares students for an increasingly complex and evolving world.

Beyond his school-based leadership, Mr. Healy is actively engaged in the broader educational landscape. He is completing his Doctor of Education at the University of Calgary, where his research focuses on generative artificial intelligence and academic integrity in K–12 education. He teaches leadership and assessment courses at Queen's University, presents nationally on emerging issues in education, and serves with organizations connected to independent schools and professional standards. He is a leader grounded in practice and engaged in the conversations shaping the future of education.

Myke's work consistently emphasizes strong academic foundations and student well-being, priorities that closely align with SJR’s values. Mr. Healy contributed to the conversations that helped shape Rise Together, the School's new five-year strategic plan, and he is fully supportive of the direction it sets. As Head of School, he will carry this work forward, with a focus on strengthening academic programs, supporting faculty, and fostering a connected community.

In the months ahead, Myke will begin connecting with students, faculty, parents, and alumni to learn more about the traditions, values, and aspirations that define SJR and to support a thoughtful and successful leadership transition.
